Despite all the Covid protocols and the long journey out to Beijing, Rupert and the team are in great spirits and looking forward to the challenge ahead. The track and facilities in Yanqing are incredible with a fully covered track and huge infrastructure around it. From what we’ve seen so far, the track plays nicely to Rupert’s strenghts and we should be in for a pleasing result should all continue to go to plan.

Team GB HQ is the envy of the Olympic Village with a great set of support staff and a really great set-up it really is a home away from home. We’re all enjoying being a part of the “One Team GB” atmosphere and have been made to feel very welcome.

The team consists of Rupert Staudinger as the sole qualified  athletes supported by Team Leader Gav Arnold, Coach Mark Hatton and Physio George Ewer as well as extra support from British Skeleton where required (for which we are extremely grateful). We’re currently at Day -2 with the systematic runs (technical training runs from lower down the track) completed successfully and official training ahead before the big race commences on Saturday at 11:15am UK time. Thanks to you all for your messages of support for Rupert and the team and we look forward to Rupert having a performance to be proud of at the weekend.
